Do you sing in the shower?
Sing car karaoke?
Want to sing but worry about 'having no voice' or 'not having sung since school'?
We can help. There are NO auditions, NO judgements and NO need to be able to read music, just lots of singing and lots of fun!
Why not come and give us a try? The first session is FREE.
We meet every Wednesday in term time 7pm-9pm at the Emmanuel Centre in Battle (MAP).
You can be sure of a very warm welcome: we are famous locally for being a lovely bunch of friendly people. We hope to see you there!
Who are BATTLE COMMUNITY SINGERS?
We are a community choir founded in 2015 and we welcome anybody who loves to sing, regardless of ability.
We always say that we are 'from the community, in the community and for the community' and we try very hard to encourage Battle and surrounding villages to share our love of singing.
BCS joined by Whatlington Singers for a roof raising finale at our concert in St Mary's Church
What do we sing?
Well, after our fun and energising warm ups, we sing all sorts of things! We sing a mixture of show tunes, time loved classics, pop songs, sea shanties, folk songs and newly composed originals - you name it we sing it! There really is something for everybody and we are always open to suggestions. Why not come along to a taster session and see for yourself?
How can I find out more?
Always happy to chat about singing.
Please feel free to call Ailsa, our Musical Director, on 07775 971611 or email us on secbattlecommunitysingers@gmail.com
FAQs
Q: Do I have to sing in a concert even if I don’t want to?
A: Absolutely not! You will be very welcome to sing with us in concert if you want, but there is no pressure at all.
Q: I am shy. Will people talk to me?
A: You will be made very welcome if you come to a practise session. We all remember our first time of pitching up and not knowing anybody.
Q: I really can’t sing, are you sure you want me as a member?
A: Yes, yes, yes! Don’t worry, there are no auditions and no judgements and you will be surprised to find with time just how well you can sing.
Q: Do I have to pay for the music?
A: No, it comes from your weekly subscription and you get to take the music home too, so you can sing it in the bath!
